About Escape to the River

Escape to the River is a family run company operating out of Saltford Marina located half way between the historic cities of Bristol and Bath. We bought the boat in 2001 for family days out and because we both love being out on the River Avon. Since the children have flown the nest, we're making the boat available for you, your partner, your colleagues or your family to enjoy cruising on a skippered trip between Bristol and Bath.

We are fully insured and licensed to carry up to four people, hold an annual fishing license and allow pets on board - as long as they're not too big!

Whilst onboard you can take full advantage of the activities we have on offer. They range from a relaxing beverage whilst soaking up the sun either inside the cabin or on deck, fishing from the boat with the supplied kit (you're more than welcome to bring your own though), learning how to skipper the craft; working the locks, tying knots or steering at the helm or we can simply moor up and provide life jackets and kayaks for you to go exploring the river banks alone. (one and two person kayaks available)
